We can TRAIN in the RAIN!
We can GO in the SNOW!
Don't let cold, snowy, wet weather
interfere with your training schedule.
Working out in all conditions is part of the FUN
of the Bulldog Bootcamp experience!
Yes, I said FUN!
Layering is the key; it lets you strike a balance
between your body temperature, your clothing, and the
weather.
With the excellent technical fibers out there these
days, there is no reason that you can't enjoy a warm,
dry workout no matter what the weather is!
The key to staying warm and comfortable during
those cold, sloppy days is to stay dry and to
dress in layers.
Keep in mind if the temperature drops
to 10 degree F or below within 30 minutes of your
scheduled workout time, the workout will be canceled.
First
Layer
It all starts here.
This layer must move moisture away from the body
to prevent chill.
Cotton won’t work; it just absorbs moisture.
Choose a fabric such as CoolMax for superior
moisture management.
You can wear a first layer as simple as a
sports bra or singlet and briefs or as much as a top and
pants.
Mid Layer
This is your insulating layer.
In continues to move moisture to the outer layer,
but also traps warm air for insulation.
Don't make this layer too heavy or too
tight-fitting or you could overheat.
Polyester fleece is a good choice for this layer.
Outer Layer
This layer protects you from the
elements and completes moisture transfer by releasing
perspiration into the atmosphere.
It could be a vest, jacket, or complete
breathable, waterproof running suit.
How cold and wet is it today?
That's what determines your Outer Layer.
Don't Forget your Hands, Feet, and Head!
As much as 70% of your body heat
escapes through your extremities!
On cold days, always have a hat and gloves in
your pocket.
If you are wearing a hat and gloves and feel
overheated, take them off to vent quickly.
