Start by reading What is CrossFit?  

Then call us to schedule your FREE introduction to Bulldog CrossFit.  This is a laid-back, no pressure meeting where we explain the Ins and Outs of CrossFit training.  This is a 1-on-1 private session, in which we will evaluate your fitness level. Come in 5-10 min early and fill out the Waiver and Intro form. We’ll take you through a specialized warm-up to start the evaluation process. Next, skill training, to evaluate the level of training you will need, and finally, the workout. After which we’ll go over the next course of action for you and the associated investment, which means I’ll hand you the price sheet and answer your questions. Don’t waste our time and we won’t waste yours. We may seem more expensive than your average gym but we offer a much bigger bang for your buck .  Besides, what is the pricetag on your health & fitness?

This 2 week workshop is the starting point for Bulldog CrossFit.  This workshop meets 8 days over a two week period and is required for all new members. In this workshop, you will be exposed to the philosophies, principles and basic movements that are essential to understanding CrossFit and its programming.

We will expose you to our movement curriculum in a group format.  Movement techniques will be drilled as well as a progressive introduction to the intensity levels that are inherent in our group classes.  If you are unsure as to whether you are a good candidate for beginning in a class setting, please contact us.

Why is the OnRamp required?

For two reasons:

  1. For you Safety - You will learn, in great detail, all of the movements performed in a CrossFit Workout.
  2. No One is Left Behind - After completing the OnRamp you will be able to jump in a program and feel confident in the skills you have learned.

 It is our experience that new entrants into our CrossFit program- regardless of fitness level, require a great deal of attention and coaching to become comfortable with the CrossFit movements & philosophies.  It is very difficult for our trainers to coach fast paced group workouts and provide full attention to new folks at the same time. Coming into an all levels CrossFit class unprepared could be a recipe for injury, frustration, misunderstood concepts, or a combination of all.   

Our CrossFit OnRamp Workshop takes place at Bulldog CrossFit (The Dog Pound) in Oak Park with morning and evening times being offered.  New OnRamps start every two weeks.   We limit the size of our OnRamp Bootcamp to 6-8 enrollees to give you the personal attention required for learning these movements quickly.   Sessions fill quickly.  

Once you have completed the CrossFit OnRamp and show proficiancy in the basic movements you will be eligable for continuing CrossFit classes.  It’s ok if you still need a little work once you’ve finished your OnRamp class.  We continue to work on skills no matter what level you are. 

The OnRamp Bootcamp is only $180.00.  (That’s only $22.50/class compared to $70+ for personal training)

What if I’m not in good enough shape? 

If you’re worried that your not in good enough shape to start, don’t be. That’s what we’re here for, to get you fit.  We will scale workouts to your level.  We will show you how we scale our workouts to fit within your personal level.   Once there is no longer a need to scale our workouts you will be challenged as they are prescribed with the fittest of athletes in mind.
