After 5 month of Bootcamp at the Lincoln Park location, and before taking a small winter break, I think it’s time for me to give my feedback.

I cannot define myself as a sporty guy and, even though I’ve always been careful with my diet and I have done some workout in the past, this time I finally found something that I really love.

Yes, it is painful; yes, it is exhausting; and yes, sometimes it is even frustrating. And yet, the Bulldog Bootcamp workout make you feel accomplished and, in a few months, you will see an amazing progress and real results.

In addition, Bulldog Bootcamp is also a lot of fun! It feels really good to workout outdoors in the park with a different set of exercise every day.

To top all of that, there couldn’t be a better instructor than Sgt. Friday: she is demanding, but very helpful, attentive and, she never lets you down.

Now, what are you waiting for? Go and sign up for the first available session. Careful, though, Bulldog Bootcamp is highly addictive!

Working out outside is just awesome.

Sgt Friday’s an amazingly tough trainer. There’s an ability not every trainer has to skillfully connect & challenge you, but she’s got it. You don’t just hear “Do 100 pushups!” you hear positive reinforcements that you have the power to squash those mental blocks of I can’t!

I’ve learned so many things, but 1 I live by and swear by… Don’t Think, JUST DO IT. Nike’s billion $ slogan—I now understand what it means.

Thank you Sgt Friday, and thank you Bulldog Bootcamp.
Michelle

The resulting effects can be good, bad, or a combination of both. Honestly, the only way to describe how Bulldog Bootcamp has affected me is literally Life Changing! I had no idea what to expect that very first morning I attended Bulldog Bootcamp in LP but if anyone told me that morning would change my life I would’ve never believed them. I believe strongly that everyday is a learning experience but Sgt Friday and D.I. Brooks have taken it to the next level and have shown me that everyday is life changing.

I’m pretty blown away that even after a year and a half I can still make progress and get better/faster/stronger. The 6 minute mile got started with the old assessment of push-ups for a minute, sit-ups for a minute and a mile run. I was pushing for 60 push-ups, 60 sit-ups and a 6 minute mile so I could have “the assessment of the beast!” I think I’d really need to eat some Wheaties to hit 60 push-ups in a minute. Maybe that will be my next goal.

I think a lot of newcomers look at veterans like myself and say “I’ll never be that fast or strong” but they don’t realize that I use to be worse than them! We’re all getting old. Progress isn’t impossible any more it just takes more time than when you were a kid. I think in another 5 or 6 years I can catch Usain Bolt :)

As with many people struggling with this disease, exercise, eating right, and taking care of yourself is key to avoid nasty complications in the future. In the past couple of years, however, I’ve slipped into a state of pure laziness with my health. I ate so-so, lacked motivation to push myself into a regular exercise routine, and eventually found myself with a doctor’s warning about my weight and overall lifestyle. I figured I needed a pretty tough routine to get myself back on track- so I signed up for Bulldog. From day one, I was hooked. My blood sugars levels have never been better, I have seen muscles that I haven’t seen for years, and I feel great. Funny, but I actually look forward to Sgt. Suzanne yelling at me! She is a great motivator, and an even better educator. Since joining, I’ve signed up for Tour de Cure, a 65 mile bicycle ride to help find a cure for diabetes. I’m certain that with my 12 week training that I’ll be able to cross the finish line, something I doubt I could have accomplished before my evenings with the Bulldogs. Thank you!

On behalf of all the Grant Park bulldogs a special congrats to Bulldog management and specifically to Patrick. One of the critical success factors of keeping the daily workout alive, vibrant, results-oriented, and fun, is to “mix it up’, with a variety of exercises, visits to a variety of locations, always doing different workouts and avoiding routine and ruts. Patrick is doing a fabulous job at the 6am Grant Park workout and so we all wanted to pass along our thanks and congrats! There is no better proof of the success of this method, than the word of mouth that’s been sperading, resulting in the growing number of attendees and the improved attendance of existing bdogs.

Great job!

When I began this journey at bulldogcrossfit- I was looking for an exercise program that I could stick to and obviously weight loss. What I found there was so much more- I found the support of great coaches that pushed me to limits that I never thought I could reach physically nor mentally…

My friend was getting married and I wanted to look good in my dress. I recently had a doctors appointment where a series of tests were done for diabetes. This disease runs in my family…
